Villagers from Pfumai, Chirumhanzu were left dumbfounded and in disbelief after Cephas Dick (65) a resident was killed over a beer dispute.

Dick was out drinking beer with his friends Tatenda Gundani (27) and Wedzerai Matongo (42) when a heated argument broke out.

The argument arose when Dick accused Gundani and Matongo of being thieves.

Despite their disagreement, the three men left together for their homes at around 7 pm.

Tragically, the following day at around around 4 p.m, a passerby stumbled upon the lifeless body of Cephas Dick along a footpath.

Police were immediately alerted and at the scene they found his body with multiple injuries and fractures.

Investigations carried out by the police led to the arrest of the two suspects, Gundani and Matongo.

Midlands Provincial Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the arrest.

“Police was alerted and incepted investigations. The body had multiple injuries and fractures all over. The suspects were subsequently arrested,” said Insp. Mahoko

Mahoko expressed gratitude toward the public for their assistance in the investigation.
