In a sad incident three men lost their lives in Mutare while attempting to drain water from a deep well.
Last Murewa (31), Taurai Kamutano (41), and Elben Kandenga (38) tragically died due to suffocation caused by smoke emitted from a petrol powered water pump,the Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed.
The men had placed the water pump approximately 19-meter-deep well to extract water.
Unfortunately, the water pump emitted smoke, which filled up the well, leading to the suffocation of the victims.
Police in Mutare are still investigating the sad incident.
However the police have noted that, the death of the three serves as a reminder of the importance of following safety guidelines and using appropriate equipment when engaging in potentially dangerous activities.
