The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has quashed reports circulating on social media claiming that election agents and observers are being re-called to sign new V.11 result forms.
In a statement released today, ZEC Chief Elections Officer Utoile Silaigwana vehemently denied these allegations, emphasizing that they are entirely false.
“The Commission would like to inform the public that the said reports are false,” Silaigwana declared. “The polling station returns (V.11 forms) form part of election residue and copies are sealed in ballot boxes soon after the counting of ballots is completed at the polling station.”
Silaigwana clarified that, these ballot boxes are not meant to be opened by anyone until a specified time outlined by the law, except under an order from the Electoral Court. Therefore, the notion of re-calling election agents and observers to sign new V.11 forms is completely incorrect and unfounded.

This statement comes as social media platforms have been abuzz with claims that election agents and observers were being summoned to amend or replace the original V.11 result forms.
These allegations have sparked concern among the public regarding the impartiality and transparency of the electoral proce
ZEC’s swift denial of these false reports aims to instill confidence in the electorate, reassuring them that the integrity of the electoral system remains intact.
“The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission is committed to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections,” Silaigwana affirmed. “We urge the public to disregard these misleading reports and trust that the electoral process is being conducted in a manner that upholds democratic principles and respects the rule of law.”
