Gweru, Zimbabwe – In a heartwarming act of kindness, River Valley Group of Companies’ CEO, Ambassador Dr. Smelly Dube this Friday donated Christmas goodies including food hampers to over 200 families from Gweru, Shurugwi, and Zvishavane, bringing an early festive cheer to those in need.

Among the recipients were persons with disabilities, war veterans- widows, and other vulnerable households.

For several years now, the River Valley group of companies has consistently extended a helping hand to the less fortunate in the Midlands province through food hampers, clothes, and other essential items.

This year’s event was organized at the River Valley Offices, with Dr. Dube leading a team of dedicated volunteers.

Reflecting on her motivation to help, Dr. Dube emphasized her deep belief in the inherent dignity and value of every human being. She expressed her commitment to support those in need, especially the blind community and widows, as a responsible member of the community.

“I help because I care, especially for those in my community. It’s something I’ve been doing for a while now, and I believe in the power of giving back. Their resilience and perseverance inspire me every day,” Dr. Dube passionately shared.

The event was a testimony to the impact of Dr. Dube’s philanthropic efforts. Recipients were overwhelmed with gratitude for her unwavering generosity. Solomon Gwembe, one of the beneficiaries, emotionally expressed his appreciation, saying, “Words cannot express enough of our gratitude towards what she has done today, but also all the times she has done something like this. She continues to always give and remember us.”

Mr. Gwembe continued to highlight Dr. Dube’s dedication to uplifting and assisting persons with disabilities in the community. He praised her non-discriminatory approach and her ability to bring people from different backgrounds together. “She unites us, listens to our cries, and provides support,” he added. Mr. Gwembe also expressed his gratitude for Dr. Dube’s support towards children’s education.

The impact of Dr. Dube’s efforts reached beyond just individuals. The distribution of food hampers brought joy and comfort to the recipients, symbolizing the power of benevolence and compassion. Dr. Dube’s actions not only exemplify her role as a business entrepreneur but also highlight her exceptional commitment as a humanitarian and community leader.

As the holiday season approaches, Dr. Dube’s gesture serves as a reminder of the importance of reaching out to those in need, ensuring a more inclusive and compassionate society. Her philanthropic endeavors continue to inspire others to follow in her footsteps, making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate and creating a more harmonious community.
