Notorious Illegal Miner Caught After Dramatic Raid

In a dramatic late-night operation, infamous illegal miner Macdonald Jamba was finally captured in Shurugwi on Tuesday, two weeks after slipping away from authorities during a high-stakes raid at Tebekwe Mine, owned by well-known businesswoman Dr. Smelly Dube.

Jamba, who had reportedly been using juju or black magic to infiltrate secured mining areas under the cover of night, had managed to elude Shurugwi police for a significant period.

His partner in crime, Moses Kurauone, was killed in an underground shootout with Tebekwe Mine security, but Jamba escaped with six others, who remain on the run.

In a joint operation, Tebekwe Mine officials and local police swooped on Jamba’s home in Makusha, Shurugwi.

After hours of tense negotiations, officers cornered Jamba as he tried to flee through his bedroom window.

Tebekwe Mine officials reported that Jamba and his still-at-large gang had been illegally panning for gold for almost a month, armed with machetes and explosives, and had been causing havoc among mine workers.

“They were heavily armed and had been terrorizing our staff underground,” said a spokesperson from Tebekwe Mine in a statement released last night.
