Brighton Chikaka Kurwa, a former President of the Zimbabwe for Excellence Development Patriotic Front (ZED PF) and a well-known Robert Mugabe look-alike, has been defeated in the Zvimba West parliamentary race.
Kurwa of the Gushungo clan was running under the Kasukuwere banner.
The results of the National Assembly election in Zvimba West, Mashonaland West Province showed that Kurwa received 536 votes as an independent candidate, while Dinha Mercy Maruva of the ruling ZANU-PF party won with a total of 11,496 votes. Tanyanyiwa Mekia of Citizens Coalition for Change also garnered significant support, receiving 7,574 votes.
