Gweru residents will this week face more severe water shortages as the Gwenhoro Water Treatment Plant undergoes maintenance and repairs.
From September 5 to September 7, the plant will experience a partial shutdown, leading to low water pressure or no water in most areas of Gweru during this period.
According to a notice released by the city’s Communication and Public Relations Office, most areas of Gweru will experience low pressure or no water at all during this period, with water supplies being restored soon after the completion of maintenance work and repairs.
The notice further apologizes for any inconvenience caused to residents, clients and stakeholders. It encourages residents to plan accordingly and store adequate water supplies during this period to avoid any inconvenience.
The notice also indicates that the maintenance work and repairs are crucial for ensuring the smooth running of the Gwenhoro Water Treatment Plant, an important source of water for the city of Gweru.
Residents are advised to keep an eye on further communication from the relevant authorities regarding any further disruptions.
