Fadzai Mahere Joins Chamisa in Leaving CCC, Sacrifices Mt Pleasant Parliamentary Seat

By Kelvin Kasiwulaya

Fadzai Mahere, a prominent figure in Zimbabwean politics, has announced her departure from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) and her alliance with Nelson Chamisa, adding a new layer of political drama to an already turbulent landscape.

Mahere’s political abdication comes as a ripple effect, triggered by the announcement made by Nelson Chamisa a few hours ago that he was disassociating himself from CCC.

Making her decision public on her official X account, Mahere passionately expressed her commitment to fighting for true democracy and better lives for all Zimbabweans.

“There’s no legitimate CCC without our Change Champion in Chief,” Mahere wrote.

Literally, Mahere has sacrificed herself to the purging recalls lately instituted by CCC interim Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu under section 129 (k) of the Zimbabwean constitution.
