In a shocking turn of events, a registered voter Raymond Dudzayi Gombedza has thrown a wrench in the political aspirations of Deputy Industry Minister Rajeshkumar Modi.
Gombedza filed an urgent application at the Bulawayo High Court, seeking to bar Modi from running as an MP Candidate for Bulawayo South.
The application stems from allegations that Modi submitted his nomination papers past the 4pm deadline, a violation of electoral rules.

The same legal connotations led to the barring of 12 CCC MP candidates from contesting in the forthcoming plebiscite a decision they have appealed against in the Supreme Court.
While this unexpected twist unfolds, political analysts and voters alike eagerly await the court’s ruling.
